Hey everyone! I’m Bo Matthews, coming at you from Nashville, where my family and I are deeply rooted in the music industry. From radio to artist management, and now to the tech side of audio experiences, this journey keeps growing in ways I hadn’t imagined. Today, I want to share a bit about what I’m doing, what I’m hoping to accomplish, and the vision that drives me every day.

After a career spent almost exclusively in radio, I've stepped into an exciting new role as the Director of Radio Programming Services at Super Hi-Fi. If you’re wondering, “What exactly is Super Hi-Fi?” I encourage you to check out our website—it’s impressive. In short, Super Hi-Fi is a tech company specializing in creating audio experiences that elevate how content is delivered. They’ve made their mark in the streaming world and are now bringing innovative solutions to radio. We’re focused on using AI and technology to help radio stations schedule and deliver content in smarter, more engaging ways. I’m just getting started with them, but the creativity and purpose behind their work are truly inspiring. I believe that together, we can help bring a fresh pulse to the radio industry, which, as many of us know, could use a new spark.
I’ve been in radio my whole career. I started at iHeart, where I spent nearly two decades. They moved me around, station to station, city to city, wherever the challenge led, and I got to work alongside some of the most talented people in the business. And we won—a lot. But like so many others in the industry, I got swept up in not one, but two restructures. Those restructuring cuts, of course, come down to money; when revenues fall short, companies trim where they think they have to. And while that’s the reality, it can feel like a gut punch when you’ve spent years doing exactly what you were brought in to do—winning, moving, growing. So this time, I’m taking a different approach, using my experience in a new way.
With Super Hi-Fi, I’m getting to be a part of something forward-thinking that still feels like home. It’s radio, but with a twist. And in the spirit of keeping my passion for creative problem-solving alive, I launched my company, Disruptive Soul LLC. Initially, it was just a side venture while I was looking for my next adventure, but it quickly grew into a real passion. Now, I’m working as a creative consultant for record labels, music artists, and influencers, helping with marketing plans, strategies, and activations. I’m all about figuring out what moves people and coming up with ways to make those connections resonate.
And speaking of connections, a big part of my life remains managing my son Alex Angelo’s music career. Tina and I are in it together, and while I laugh at the “parent managers” label, we’re staying involved until the perfect management situation comes along for him. We know enough to keep his career moving, but when he’s ready to level up, we’ll happily make that happen. Here’s hoping he gets big enough to need that kind of team—#goodproblems, right?
This blog will be a place where I share the things I’m learning, the tips I’ve picked up, and ideas I hope might help others. I’ll talk about radio, share insights from managing an artist, and dive into everything I’ve learned along the way. My goal is simple: to help people grow and get better. I believe there’s always something new to learn, and if I can offer even a small nugget of goodness, I’m here for it.
Thanks for reading, listening, and being part of this journey. Here’s to new beginnings, big ideas, and always moving forward.
Giddy up!
